i left for nyc yesterday and have been having the best time so far. i couldn't be more excited to spend the weekend with my best friend & all my great friends who are there for the summer. our agenda hasn't been super full, minus seeing maroon 5 at "the today show"  this morning & of course, seeing a broadway show, the newly crowned best musical at the tony's, "once" tomorrow night. other than that, lots of shopping, great food & exploring the city! here's what i'm throwing in my suitcase...

i'm not usually a huge fan of kristen stewart, but when i saw this i was blown away. the details are exquisite, & i love how its two separate pieces. with looks like this, i'm a fan!

the shape is girly & sophisticated, while the deep-v & sheer coverage make it sexy, but remains classy & elegant.

when it comes to weddings, the thing that you will always have from that day is the photos. i've noticed while interning, how important it is to have a great photographer. you want a photographer who captures all the little details, the classic photos & then tries unique photos, like these that i found on pinterest! totally will be suggesting or trying these when it comes to my wedding day in the years to come!

kisses through the wall, reading handwritten letters between a door or sneaking a kiss while covering his eyes, these are perfect photos to capture without ruining the walk down the aisle.

for the wedding party, a cute photo of glancing at the couple kissing or for all the guests, a huge group photo is something everyone will cherish to remember the big day.

this weekend was another busy, busy time full of wedding festivities. it was another beautiful event & i continue to feel super lucky to have an amazing internship like this. you know you love your job when getting compliments on how well you place candles & tying the perfect "martha stewart" bow makes your day! after all the wedding chaos, i got to spend the night at our friends cabin & it felt great to relax & catch up on sleep! now back to the real world until thursday when i leave for NYC! thats why this manicure monday, i would love for you guys to tell me which color i should paint my nails for NYC! leave your comments below & happy monday :)

oh those summer nights.

this saying i believe perfectly describes summer. afternoons spent on the beach or nights in the backyard with friends & family is what summer is all about. with summer comes parties as well. and with yesterday being the first day of summer, i've put together via my pinterest, my favorite ideas for food, drinks, decor & fashion - perfect for hot summer nights. i'll be interning all weekend at another amazing wedding at a local vineyard. have a fabulous weekend & cheers!

food.

light & simple are perfect for hungry guests. peach cupcakes, watermelon slices on a stick & caprese salad skewers are easy & best of all, delicious!

drinks.

serve a drink thats also a dessert, like this lemon sorbet & champagne with mint, or have fun serving drinks in mason jars or in a hollowed out watermelon.

decor.

scatter candles across the lawn for a romantic feel, or bring back childhood fun with twister on the lawn & glow sticks for when the sun sets.

bright colors & patterns like stripes & plaid are the essentials needed for summer. laid back glamour like a button down & print shorts or a flowy maxi-dress are great for cool, relaxing evenings.

tidying up.

as a child, i spent hours organizing my beanie babies by color, animal, name, etc. my mom always tells stories of how organized & slightly OCD i was as a child, but as i grew up, i became more stressed & more busy. i've become less of  a neat freak & more of a "tidy" person. i love a good afternoon of cleaning my closet & room, but i've found its easier to always have certain things always organized, then everything falls into place, even on crazy days. here are some of my current favorite organization tips found via pinterest.

this weekend at our first wedding of the summer for my internship, i noticed the bride showing off her sparkly pair of heels to her friends. it got me thinking about all the different options there is for that special pair of shoes to go with "the dress" & the big day. i think its important to buy a pair of shoes that you can wear again because it truly is one of the only things you can re-wear after your wedding. a fun tradition i would love to do would re-wear my wedding heels every year on my wedding anniversary. here are some of my favorites that i found on style me pretty's pinterest!
