taking a little break from ny posts to share what i've been loving lately!
i've never been into sports. my poor dad tried so hard to get my sister & i to follow in his footsteps & show some athleticism but we just never caught on. however, i do love the look of a classic sporty tee dressed up, like the classic baseball tee. here are some of my favorite looks found via my pinterest, that is making me want to say, "take me out to the ballgame!"
my second week at work the weather outside finally went from hot to cold, (plus a few days of rain) which was refreshing after the hot & steamy weather the week before. here are some of the looks i wore this past week.
my new favorite navy, kelly green & cream striped skirt from asos paired with a navy tank & cognac wedges. this look is comfortable enough to run errands around the city in & still be chic for work.
this pleated fuschia maxi skirt from urban outfitters is another favorite of mine of this summer. i knotted up a grey t-shirt from victoria's secret & paired it with platform wedges & my favorite statement necklace.
this look i captured in the closet instead of the elevator, but it was a bright pick me up on a cloudy cold day. these forever 21 flats were one of my favorite purchases this spring.
for a rainy friday, i paired this tan & cream patterned jeans with a mint blouse & sequin flats. but while outside, an umbrella & rain boots were much needed!
it seems most of time in nyc (when i'm not at work) is spent riding the subway. i always make sure my headphones are with me to help pass the time on the long ride since there is no service underground. i've been loving rediscovering old favorites to mix in with my current favorites. here's my current subway playlist & the music video for "blurred lines" which still hasn't gotten old surprisingly the last two months.

working in the fashion industry comes with the pressure of course to dress well! but being an intern also means dressing practical! i quickly learned what things work & what don't. here's a recap of what i wore for my first week.
first day, i chose a j. crew neon yellow pencil skirt & white peplum top, with my nude heels & longchamp bag. first lesson learned, never wearing heels again to work. flats are always packed in my bag!
this look was in the middle of my second day, running errands around the city. it was hot, so the hair's pulled back & i chose a lace shift dress from forever 21 with black flats.
day three, i chose another forever 21 dress. i love the little bow details & this dress was comfortable enough to run around the office & city with.
this first week in the city has been a learning experience but already the time of my life. its been super hot (93!) everyday & working twelve hour work days has been exhausting, but i am so proud & excited to be part of such an incredible company. when i'm not working, i've been trying to explore & hit up my favorite restaurants, & it was so great to have my little siobhan here this past weekend to explore with. so here's a recap of my first week living in nyc!
not the best pictures but i've already spotted some celebrities around! what i love about nyc is how normal celebrities act, like spotting model anne v (adam levine's ex-girlfriend) chatting on her phone in the rain in soho, jake gyllenhaal walking around with his hoodie & backpack in greenwich village & tory burch shopping at bergdorfs.
