this past weekend, my sister, her friend jamie and i experimented with rice krispies after reading an article about gourmet rice krispy treats. the result? gooey, decadent rice krispy treats covered in marshmallow fluff, caramel, nutella, chocolate chips & toasted mini marshmallows. i love re-inventing old favorites into something new & gourmet. now here's how to make them in your own kitchen. enjoy!
ingredients
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1 bag of marshmallows
6 cups of rice krispy cereal
1 cup of mini marshmallows
1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup of marshmallow fluff
1/2 cup of caramels
1/2 cup of nutella
directions
- follow the rice krispy recipe on the box and make traditional rice krispies.
- after letting them cool in the pan, frost them with marshmallow fluff.
- next, melt the nutella & caramel, separately, in the microwave until melted.
- drizzle the nutella & caramel over the rice krispies.
- next, sprinkle the marshmallows & chocolate chips all over them to completely cover the treats.
- put them in the oven, with the broiler on low, to let the marshmallows toast & chocolate chips melt.
- cool, cut, & enjoy!
