an ode to queen b.

i started reading the "gossip girl" series in eighth grade. by the start of freshman year, i had read the entire series, twice. i was so obsessed with the idea of these girls & then when in sophomore year of high school the tv series premiered, it was official. i was even more obsessed. but there was one girl who stole the show. blair waldorf. feminine, preppy & powerful, she was officially my new style icon. now, five years later, as the sixth & final season comes to a close tonight, its crazy to think of how much "gossip girl" shaped my life. while the entire cast & show made me fall in love with new york city & fashion even more, blair showed me its ok to stick to what you believe in, even if it means being a bitch sometimes, that there's never a headband too big & that a man like chuck bass is worth sticking around for. here, i've looked back at my favorite looks of blair from the beginning to now. xoxo always.

season one.

where it all began. season one blair showed how to make a school uniform chic, with sequins, patterned tights, ruffles & plaid. her number one accessory though? her collection of headbands on her head full of curls. the perfect upper east side school girl.

season two.

a senior in high school, blair's style stuck to ultra feminine pieces & lots of headbands. only blair could make her gym uniform glamorous. 

season three.

when blair headed off to college, she left the headbands at home, but that didn't mean she traded dresses for sweatpants. quite the opposite. this season turned blair from a school girl to a sophisticated lady. 

season four.

after a summer in paris, blair developed the perfect mix of european & new york style. mixing patterns & textures for day & wearing elegant gowns for night, blair continued to develop her personal style even more.

season five.

engaged to a prince, "princess" b dressed like pure royalty. ball gowns, a wedding gown! & classic ladylike pieces, blair pulled a kate middleton, showing how fashionable royalty can be.

season six.

as the series ends, the blair fashion we all fell in love with returns, all grown up. her signature headbands make a return, along with mixing patterns & perfect evening wear. blair is now a successful fashion designer & its rumored that gorgeous blue elie saab dress is her wedding dress for her wedding to chuck. will b become mrs. b? my goodness we hope so.
